     Janet Olney graduated cum laude from Alma College, Alma, Michigan, in 1968 with a degree in philosophy and religion.  She spent the next several years raising for five children.  In 1984 she was introduced to basket weaving and immediately fell in love with this age-old craft.  She has been weaving ever since.  She sells her art at juried art fairs throughout the upper midwest and at select galleries.  She has won many awards for her work.  Janet also teaches basket weaving at art centers, for guilds, at the Textile Center at the University of Minnesota, and privately.  Contact her for information about classes.
